I Used To Think My “Happy go Lucky” Attitude Benefited Me But Finally Realized it was Holding me Back
For most of my life, I’ve been a happy-go-lucky kind of guy.
You know the type.
Whatever happens, happens. No big deal. I would wake up each day saying “Okay life. What do you have for me today?”
After founding a business and running it for several years I finally realized that living this way has a big drawback.
You Only Achieve What Others Give You
At first, the business grew without much thought. I had a product that the market needed and it was better than the competition.
Then, things started to slow down.
When the business hadn’t grown for almost 5 years, I had a revelation.
A Business Will Rarely Grow Past Its Leadership
In order for the business to grow, I either had to grow or step aside and let someone else lead it.
I decided I wanted to grow.
Personal development is where I started. I devoured several books like Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and many others.
Still, I was trying to do it on my own. I needed someone who could see my blind spots and point out trees where I only was seeing the forest.
I Hired a Coach
What a coach can do, and what most entrepreneurs need, is to get you to
Start thinking bigger.
My coach helped me to think outside of my own small box. I was able to see things I’d missed because of my small thinking. I started getting clear on who I wanted to be and where the business needed to go.
My courage increased and by making 1 phone call that I had been too scared to make I netted over $100k just by making the call.
I Became a Coach
After being coached for several years and having my business take off and begin to be fun again, I decided to become a Certified High Performance Coachâ„¢.
Are You Feeling Stuck?
If you are, I encourage you to seek out a coach.
